KIDS CO. AT ISLAND PARK

Each day there is a chance for exploration at Kids Co. at Island Park, located at Island Park Elementary. Welcoming and engaging staff are there every day to help the kids discover their passion and build supportive relationships. We offer a low structured morning program with a quiet project, kids choice activities, an outdoor play session, and a communal breakfast snack. The program ends as the first school bell rings and we make sure they are prepared for the day with all of their belongings before releasing them to line up for school with their classmates. Kids are greeted warmly as they arrive after school and enjoy light activities as staff ensure everyone is present and accounted for. Outside play is first on the schedule to release all the energy that has built up throughout the day. We head back inside to recharge with a tasty snack. Snack time flows into educational time which is a chance to focus on homework, reading, writing in journals, or participating in rotating educational challenges. Each day there is a project from a topic the kids have suggested or one that staff knows will excite our kids. These projects are chosen to inspire wonder, fostering creativity, and/or encouraging STEM perspective. The day winds to an end with kids having the opportunity to have kids’ choice activity centers. Often they even want to help staff clean up and prepare for the next day. Overall we focus on giving the kids the chance to make and learn from their own choices, building a supportive community, and encouraging them to have a curiosity about the world around them.

Summer Day Camp (scroll down for weekly themes)

Kids Co.'s Summer Camps are fun, flexible and educational. Your one stop shop for summer fun.

New themes, activities, and field trips to lots of exciting destinations each week.

  • Designed with working parents in mind, our week-long day camps run from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. Camp activities run from 9 am to 4 pm.
  • Give yourself a break! Instead of shuttling your kids all over town to a new camp every week, choose one location all summer long.
  • Our camps are a great option for gap weeks in your kid’s summer line-up!
  • Licensed programs with professional staff who are trained in child/youth development, 1st Aid/CPR, and background checked.
  • We are excited to launch our new programs, Kids Co.’s Big Read and Summer Run for Fun.

Each day kids will dive into good books and track their progress, and collect Big Read “reading” tokens. Our dedication to daily reading helps mitigate "summer reading loss," a decline in children's reading development that can occur during summer vacation times when children are away from the classroom and not participating in formal literacy programs. Read more about it here.

Kids Co. is here to keep your kids active! Summer Run For Fun is a fun way to promote healthful living into our daily routine. Kids will earn “running shoes” tokens and track how far they’ve run, jogged, walked, or even skipped. Physical activity is vital for a child's development and lays the foundation for a healthy and active life. ... promoting healthy growth and development. helping to achieve and maintain a healthy weight. building strong bones and muscles. Read more about it here.

Kids Co. creates the best summer ever for your kids. We blend staff ideas, best practice, family feedback, and kid’s suggestions to create a summer your kids will not forget.
