Kids Co. at TOPS is a unique child care enrichment program for children before- and after-school. Our program runs during the school year from 7-9 am and from 3-6 pm, during most school breaks, as well as our awesome summer camp program. During the school year we are proud to provide care for children from 6 different schools in Seattle: TOPS, Montlake, Lowell, John Stanford IntŐl School, Summit, and AS 1. Please contact your school or SPS for transportation information.
We have a variety of activities for your child including arts and crafts, sports and outdoor games, cooking and life-skills, drama and music, homework and reading help, as well as fun group activities in a safe and nurturing environment.
Our daily schedule gives children the opportunity to choose an activity that best suits their individual interests. We also offer quiet activities to help children unwind after their day at school.
We strive to provide a place where every child can feel comfortable and welcome. The children are encouraged to develop their own ideas and express their own views. As a team, our staff works to make sure that each child feels both a respected part of the group and a unique individual. We also like to get to know each family through social events and daily interaction.

BEFORE-SCHOOL PROGRAM (7:00 - 9:00 AM)
Our morning program offers a pleasant and welcoming environment to help your child start the day. We play games, draw and read, and weather permitting, play outside. Each day we serve a delicious and nutritious breakfast from 8:00-8:30. The children eat at tables and serve themselves family-style. The children are allowed (except Kindergartners) to leave for supervised outdoor play at 8:45.
AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM (3:00 - 6:00 PM)
After school, the children arrive and have the opportunity to choose from several activities including eating a snack, reading, playing a game, and just relaxing with a friend.
During this time our staff welcome and check-in with your child. We use this time to be sure that each child has arrived as scheduled. We then have a short group meeting to make announcements, introduce new staff or children, describe the day's activities and play a group game. We dismiss to free choice, where all of the other areas including outside play, Lego's, Blocks, Home Center and board games are a choice.
Homework Club is from 3:50 until 4:20 Monday-Thursday. Homework Club is voluntary. Our staff works with a small group to help them start their homework and provide support when needed. This time is generally not sufficient to actually finish homework, so please remember to check with your child at the end of the day.
At 4:20 pm we offer our "Enrichment Activity" which allows your child the opportunity to explore new things, positively interact with their peers, and grow as people. Activities vary widely, but may include cooking, arts & crafts, group games, science, music or sports. Children are allowed to choose which activity they would like to participate in, or they can continue working on their homework to allow for more free time at home.
At 5:00, we wind down with clean-up and quiet time. We take this time to read with your child, draw or play a quiet game.
Kids Co. is a safe, secure, fun place for children. We offer a program that will provide your child with lifelong memories of friendships, fun and excitement.
