Benefit Breakfast March 15, 2007
Kids Co. is grateful to the generous corporate sponsors of our 6th Annual Benefit Breakfast. Because of their participation, 100% of the funds raised at the Benefit Breakfast will provide child care scholarships to families in need.

The 6th Annual Kids Co. Benefit Breakfast was held at the Washington Athletic Club's Crystal Ballroom on Thursday, March 15th. 173 people were in attendance to show support for accessible, high-quality child care. Community leaders such as Seattle City Councilmembers David Della, Jean Godden and Tom Rasmussen joined Kids Co. parents, board members, staff and corporate sponsors.

The room looked wonderful, accented by spring flowers that served as centerpieces. The flowers were in terra cotta pots painted by children at each of our seven centers. Each place setting was spruced up by a special placemat, compliments of budding Kids Co. artists.

The program itself was fantastic. Superintendents Raj Manhas and Cyndy Simms spoke about how our programs support and align with the academic goals of our school communities. The keynote speaker, King County Sheriff Sue Rahr talked about the critical role afterschool programs play in supporting working parents and keeping kids safe during the "bewitching hours" of 3 to 6 pm.

Kids Co. parent Virginia Anderson and Kids Co. board member Jon Bridge invited those gathered to help eliminate cost as a barrier to high-quality child care. Those in attendance joined our corporate sponsors in giving generously. $32,000 was raised to provide tuition assistance to families in need!

We are grateful for everyone's support!
