SUMMER DAY CAMP 2012

2012 SUMMER DAY CAMP WEEKLY THEMES:

FUN IN THE SUN (JUNE 25-29)

Grab your swimsuit, towel, sunscreen, and the all-important shades as we get your kids ready for a week of fun in the sun! The children will have organized water activities, walks to the park, picnics on the lawn, as well as stories in the shade. This is a great way to launch summer break and is sure to be lots of fun!

LET'S GET PATRIOTIC (JULY 2-6; Closed JULY 4)

Let’s kick off the 4th of July American style. Activities include red, white, and blue tie dying and Yankee fashioned cooking projects. We’ll complete the week by decorating our wheels (as in bikes or other) in preparation for an Independence Day parade. This will be a fun celebration!

MAKING A SPLASH (JULY 9-13)

This week we will be making a splash all around town by going to the Ballard wading pool, the lake, and even a water park! “Making a Splash” will wrap up with our very own Kids Co. water balloon fight. Don’t forget your swimsuit and get ready to rumble!

SOMETHING'S FISHY (JULY 16– JULY 20)

What’s that smell? It must be something fishy….engage in a week devoted to aqua-crazy exploration. Included are excursions to the salmon ladder and Seattle Aquarium. We’ll round out the week with fun, interactive, creative, squirmy, and scaly, fishy art projects!

ANIMAL ADVENTURES (JULY 23– 27)

In a five-day span we’ll learn about animals from all over the globe by investigating creatures from the African Savanna, the Tropical Rain Forest, and more. The children will create safari maps and visit our animal friends at Woodland Park Zoo. Join us for a week of animal adventure and excitement!

MAD SCIENCE (JULY 30– AUGUST 2; CLOSED AUGUST 3)

Let your little scientist inspect the various states of matter, make goo, participate in a myriad of wacky experiments, and wrap up with a bang: a Pacific Science Center field trip. It’s sure to be a messy and fun time for all the kids as they learn first-hand the process of cause and effect.

UP, UP, AND AWAY (AUGUST 6–10)

Let Kids Co. take these lucky kids to the skies. Highlights include paper airplane construction and contest as well as a visit to the Museum of Flight. Our big challenge for the week will be a Mars Pathfinder Egg Drop experiment where our little astronauts have the chance to attempt a soft landing on “Plant Mars” by dropping an egg from a ladder! Do you think it will break?

LET'S PLAY BALL (AUGUST 13-17)

Baseball, Football, Basketball and Soccer: that’s what we have in store for your child! This will be a full week of organized skill-building activities and games. We promise to focus on teambuilding and good sportsmanship while the children play hard while having fun. All athletes will be rewarded with an outing to a professional sports game.

SPORTS EXTRAVAGANZA (AUGUST 20– 24)

Put on your game face because it’s another week devoted to sports! In the second sports themed week the kids will go bowling and ice skating. The topper will be our own Kids Co. Summer Olympics. Let the games begin!

LIFE'S A STAGE (AUGUST 27–30)

Let your young thespian be in the spotlight. The week devoted to drama will include theatre games (including improve) a theatrical performance outing, and the creation of their very own outdoor production. This Tony Award winning week will be a great wrap up to summer break. Bravo to all our Kids Co. Kids!

$25 Registration & $50 Deposit for Non-Currently Enrolled Families

WEEKLY RATES (2 wk min.):

• 7AM-6PM $198 per week
• 9AM-4PM $183 per week

DAILY RATES (2 day min):

• 7AM-6PM $52 per day
• 9AM-4PM $48 per day
